Ron has decades of experience as a senior executive. He founded his own structural engineering design practice and operated that business for 22 years. Later, he was a senior executive for a large, multi-disciplined technical firm. Ron also worked as an adjunct professor, so he has experience as a teacher. Here is more detailed information:
2016 – 2018: Seattle University; Seattle, WA; Adjunct Professor.
Ron taught a master’s level class in Project Management at Seattle University. This class is part of SU's new master’s degree program in Structural Engineering. Since the class had never been taught before, Ron created all the class materials. These included notes for  75-minute long lectures; homework assignments; the mid-term exam; and final exam. Ron taucht the class for three years.
2015 – Present: DOWL; Seattle, WA; Senior Project Manager.
Ron is now a Senior Project Manager in Seattle, working on a project-by-project basis.
2007 – 2012: DOWL; Anchorage, AK;Head of Highway Engineering.
Ron led a group of more than 20 professionals who designed Alaskan highway projects. He was responsible for every aspect of the department’s operation. Working within DOWL’s matrix organization, Ron was also the overall project manager for large engineering design projects. His final project was extremely complex - engineers in 3 states, a 5-year design schedule, a 7-year construction schedule, and an estimated construction cost of $183M. Ron retired from DOWL in 2012.
1994 – 2004: Reid Middleton, Inc.; Anchorage, AK; Co-Owner, Principal, Manager of the Alaska Region, and member of the firm’s Board of Directors.
As principal in charge of Reid Middleton’s Alaska Division, Ron was responsible for every aspect of his office’s business operation. He also acted as the overall project manager on hundreds of engineering projects.
1984 – 1994: Loftus & Dailey, Inc.; Anchorage, AK; Cofounder, Principal
In 1984, Ron Dailey and his business partner founded Loftus & Dailey, Inc. in Fairbanks, Alaska. Two years later, Ron established the firm’s office in Anchorage, Alaska. As principal in charge, Ron was responsible for every aspect of the Anchorage office’s growth. Ten years later, Ron merged his practice with Reid Middleton.
1978 – 1984: Entry Level Engineer; Seattle area. Designed bridges and buildings for two engineering design firms. Details available on request.
2002 Certificate – Training and Organizational Development; New York University. This was a 6-Month Business Management Program for established professionals.
1986 Master of Science Degree, Civil Engineering (Structural Emphasis); University of Washington.
